The Christian Formation Team seeks to provide innovative and relevant learning opportunities consistent with the Reformed Tradition of Covenant Presbyterian Church. Developmentally appropriate Sunday School classes are offered from September – May for toddlers, preschool, and elementary-school-age children. A vibrant youth ministry is offered for middle school and high school students. A variety of learning opportunities are provided for adults, including short-term topical studies, Bible study, and book discussion groups.

Sunday School for All (September-May)

We’re so excited to start Sunday school with a new curriculum published by the PCUSA. “Follow Me” is a unit-based curriculum that is designed for the whole church. Our unit during Lent is “Practice Spiritual Disciplines.” Each Sunday, from young children through adults, classes will learn about different spiritual practices, from their history to their application today. Our hope is that this curriculum will spark conversations outside the Sunday school classroom across generations!

What time does Sunday School start?

Sunday School is from 9:40 am to 10:20 am.

Where should I (or my children) go?

Infants/Toddlers:  Nursery (downstairs in the Preschool Wing – the room has a Nursery sign)

Pre-K/1st Grade:  Blue Room (downstairs in the Preschool Wing – the room has a blue sign)

Youth:  Youth Room (off the Great Hall in the back of the church – the room has a Youth sign)

Adults:  The regular adult class is upstairs on the right hallway with the sign “Adult.”

We also offer Covenant Kids for children ages 3 to 1st grade after the Children’s Message in the 10:30 service. The room has a sign “Covenant Kids” and is on the right hallway. There is usually an adult in the back of the Sanctuary to escort the children to this room.

What do I need to bring?  Just yourself! If you’d like to bring a Bible, you are welcome to.

Take Home Sunday School for Children (June 9-August 25)

Join our Google classroom and participate from wherever the summer takes you! Each week, we will post a children’s morning prayer video with the Bible story, songs, and a prayer, a simple game to play, craft to create, and a kid-friendly  way to pray. We will explore the parables and grow in God’s word together. In July and August, the kids can join Rachel      for a 15-20 minute check-in and preview of the story in the breezeway between the two services.

Acts III Ministries (10:30 am on Tuesdays, June 18 – August 27, Chapel)

Act III Ministries is a gathering time for older adults who are navigating the changes that come with aging, whether that be defining oneself  after retirement, dealing with aging bodies and abilities, or finding one’s place in the story of the people of God in this new life stage. Anyone who identifies with any these issues is invited to  join us for fellowship, worship, and prayer.

Presbyterian Women (September – June)

Celebrating! This year we will be celebrating God’s gifts each month as we gather together! Come join us as we celebrate Sabbath through our new Bible study, Celebrating Sabbath:  Accepting God’s Gift of Rest and Delight.

Our “Circle Meetings” are about women gathering together to enjoy discussion of stories in the Bible, share our faith journey, and support each other in prayer. Absolutely every woman is welcome!

Come and join us! The Presbyterian Women’s Circle meets the second Tuesday of the month beginning in September at 10:30am.

The Wired Word

Each week’s lesson is based on the foundations of Christian faith and includes Bible verses, biblical commentary, discussion questions, reference material that relate to a topic in the news that week – it could even be news event that is occurring the same day. Join our Google classroom to participate in an online discussion. Each week, you can interact with the guiding questions on a discussion board with Rachel and other members of the group. New lessons are posted each Thursday.
