Fellowship

The ministry of the Fellowship Team is focused on creating a sense of community within our congregation and warmly welcoming visitors and neighbors. Seasonal potlucks, fellowship meals (Together on Wednesdays), Sunday hospitality beverage services, dinner groups, and special events and gatherings throughout the year are just some of the activities coordinated by the Team to foster the sense of community within Covenant.

Special Events
Throughout the year and across all seasons, the Fellowship Team facilitates events and opportunities for enjoying the company of our brothers and sisters in Christ. The Team invites you to bring a child to the Spring Egg Hunt; meet old and new friends for a cone at Kline’s; take a hike with Charlie Huppuch; attend a potluck meal; join a dinner group; and play games and enjoy magic with all ages at the Family Fun Night. Join the Covenant family to see a performance of Shenanarts and attend the Chili cook-off/Dessert bake-off, bring a dish to the friendly competition or vote for your favorite chili and dessert. There are activities planned for all ages, so bring your family and friends and join the fun!

TOW
You are invited to attend TOW (Together on Wednesdays),  a weekly gathering during the school year that meets in the Great Hall for dinner and fellowship. Complimentary programs often include Bible study, mission activities, youth fundraisers, gingerbread house making, and speakers on a variety of topics.  During Lent a simple supper of soup and bread is served followed by Taizé worship in the sanctuary.  Supervision for young children is provided.

5th Sundays
If there is a 5th Sunday on the calendar, you can be sure that the Fellowship Team has a family friendly activity planned. Generally, the activity is seasonally based and led by members of the congregation with a particular interest and skill in the planned event.  5th Sundays and family fun go-together!

Dinner Groups
Do you want to get to know the person who sits two rows in front of you or across the aisle? Join a Dinner Group! The Fellowship Team organizes dinner groups twice a year, during the Spring/Summer and Fall/Winter seasons. Groups consist of 8 to 10 adults who meet in each other’s homes or dine together in a restaurant. The hosts arrange for the main entree and beverages and the remaining guests provide the remainder of the meal. Dinner groups are a wonderful way for new members to make friends and become a part of the Covenant community. It is also a great way for longtime members to reconnect and broaden friendships in the church. Dinner groups are designed for participants to enjoy the pleasure of each other’s company. Where better than around the table? And the food is always delicious!

If you are interested in facilitating and planning events that bring together all ages for fellowship and fun, please consider joining the Fellowship Team.

If you have a skill or interest that can be incorporated into a family friendly activity, please share this with the chair of the Fellowship Team.
